THE JOURNEY
Tainesha McKinney, LCSW is known by her communities as a down-to-earth single mother, always willing to lend a hand, offer insight and support. While raising her three amazing children she began her journey towards providing birth work services, therapeutic counseling and social work case management. All the while, providing for her family and pursuing her clinical social work licensure, massage therapy license and doula certifications. Today, she thrives to support others through life's ups & downs. She says, “If you don’t deal with your emotional challenges and trauma, it deals with you. And that is usually at the most inopportune times in our lives. But let me tell you, therapy can be a safe haven and guide towards establishing your equilibrium and PEACE.” Her advocacy for resourceful creative thinking and community web like support systems gave birth to Peace By Piece. It serves as a symbol and mission to take things one at a time, Moment to Moment and Piece by Piece.

Her specialties are in a wide range of areas, including child welfare, women's issues, maternal child health, fertility challenges, sexual abuse, domestic violence, relationships, couples, teenagers, trauma, and the profound emotions of grief and loss. Her diverse studies in social work, labor and postpartum doula support, childbirth education, breastfeeding and massage therapy yield a unique perspective. She is interested in the intersection of her practices, and these points of convergence influence her. Tainesha, is a healer who supports her clients like a guiding hand through life’s many transitions.
